Category: Let's talk

Post 1 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Sunday, 17-Jan-2010 17:20:27

Well the new league got underway tonight and there were a good few of us in to participate. I think it was a great start and a good competition. Here is the result of the first of ten rounds:

1 Blondie McConfusion 5,750,000,000,000
2 benito mussolini 3,202,500,000,000
3 LibraLady 2,760,000,000,000
4 Brooke 2,145,000,000,000
5 HotPerro 2,010,000,000,000
6 Diane 1,875,000,000,000
7 Rose Hathaway 1,692,500,000,000
8 Csection 1,442,500,000,000
9 NativeRose 885,000,000,000
10 Brandon H 875,000,000,000
11 Gryfynn 750,000,000,000
12 Gemini 567,500,000,000
13 bluebutterfly101 500,000,000,000
= SisterDawn 500,000,000,000
15 the professional 442,500,000,000
16Wraith 375,000,000,000
= the charismatic_enigma 375,000,000,000
18 shea 135,000,000,000
19 Still_Small_Voice 67,500,000,000

So Pipi gets off to a flying start, but don't worry, it's only the first week and anything can happen! Points will be awarded soon, and the second round will be on Sunday 21st February. Betting is also open again and I'll post the prices below.

Post 2 by Brooke (I just keep on posting!) on Sunday, 17-Jan-2010 22:22:50

That was awesome, and I'm already looking forward to Round 2.

Post 3 by SingerOfSongs (Heresy and apostasy is how progress is made.) on Monday, 18-Jan-2010 3:33:36

As this is an ongoing event, and something people may want to find more easily, I'm going to make this stick at the top of the let's talk category. Hope people find this useful.

Post 4 by laced-unlaced (Account disabled) on Monday, 18-Jan-2010 4:31:34

wow. i'm shocked at the result.

i thought some of the people would be higher, and other ones lower.

Post 5 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Monday, 18-Jan-2010 11:50:24

Well, my missing 75 percent of the quiz certainly doesn't help my score. I can't believe I forgot that the quiz was starting yesterday! I've been looking forward to it, but for whatever reason, it just totally slipped my mind. Ah well. Guess all I can do is try to redeem myself during the next quizzes. Still, though. For coming in at the end and only answering four or five questions, 12th place isn't too bad.

Post 6 by robbiec12345 (Good night and Farewell ) on Monday, 18-Jan-2010 15:17:46

Well I didn't get off to a great start. It's probably because there were more people participating in this round than in the practice one. Ah well, hopefully round 2 will be more successful!

Post 7 by OceanDream (An Ocean of Thoughts) on Thursday, 28-Jan-2010 13:12:46

Hmm. I might just have to turn publics on at some point for this.

Post 8 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Thursday, 28-Jan-2010 17:49:34

You do that, it's a good giggle.

Also I'm planning to do a couple of extra quizzes, not part of the league but still for points (as long as I can earn them!)

One will be a team event, where two teams of four will answer a range of questions and the winners split the points.

The second will be based on the TV show 'Jeopardy!' and for those who aren't familiar will mean you need to supply the question, not the answer!

More details to follow soon ...

Post 9 by Brooke (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 01-Feb-2010 10:22:47

Looking forward to the Jeopardy quiz!

Post 10 by Blondie McConfusion (Blah Blah Blah) on Monday, 01-Feb-2010 14:46:31

dusty, i can't wait. you could do a quiz on alphalpha and i'd enjoy every second of it. i'm so in for the team quiz also. if you want help with points, let me know, i'll waste some time playing games to get some

Post 11 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Sunday, 14-Feb-2010 13:18:04

The next round of the league is going ahead on Sunday 21st February at 6pm UK Time. The format and prize will remain the same, however due to the recent points-reset (and in order not to create a huge gulf between the top and bottom of the overall site's points table, the points awarded for each quiz question have been reduced. They will now be in the hundreds of thousands rather than the billions, and I will adjust the scores from round one in a similar fashion so that everything remains consistent.

I hope this wont put you off playing, remember there's still a premium membership and loads of points up for grabs, so I'll see you all on Sunday! Any questions just let me know.

PS Sorry but the special quiz on alfalfa has had to be postponed.

Post 12 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Sunday, 21-Feb-2010 16:32:31

Here is the result from round two of the Quiz League (Sunday 21st February):

Blondie McConfusion 4,942,500
Dr. Al Zheimer 3,192,500
benito mussolini 3,010,000
HotPerro 2,942,500
Csection 2,692,500
Brooke 1,837,500
Blackbird 1,250,000
SilkySarah 1,135,000
Pure Love 1,125,000
Diane 1,010,000
funky monkey 875,000
SwissGriff 692,500
42Galaxy 500,000
Gemini 442,500
miss_strawberry_1991 250,000
buck_futter 250,000
the charismatic_engima 67,500
Paco 67,500
the professional 67,500

Well Pipi started fairly slowly but came back to establish a fairly comprehensive lead towards the end. Good to see the return of Blackbird, who came in late but answered consistently for the final few rounds.

As you’ll notice, the points awarded were much lower than the first round, and this is due to the global points reset. The scores from round one will also be adjusted to keep everything level. The prize will still be awarded and I will give out the points as soon as I can. When will that be? You’ll have to ask your admins I’m afraid ...

The running league scores will be in the next post ...

Post 13 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Sunday, 21-Feb-2010 16:34:25

Leaderboard after Two Rounds:

Blondie McConfusion 10,692,500
benito Mussolini 6,212,500
HotPerro 4,952,500
Csection 4,135,000
Brooke 3,982,500
Dr. Al Zheimer 3,192,500
Diane 2,885,000
LibraLady 2,760,000
Rose Hathaway 1,692,500
SwissGriff 1,442,500
Blackbird 1,250,000
SilkySarah 1,135,000
Pure Love 1,125,000
Gemini 1,010,000
NativeRose 885,000
Brandon H 875,000
funky monkey 875,000
the professional 510,000
bluebutterfly101 500,000
42Galaxy 500,000
SisterDawn 500,000
the charismatic_enigma 442,500
Wraith 375,000
buck_futter 250,000
miss_strawberry_1991 250,000
Shea 135,000
Paco 67,500
Still_Small_Voice 67,500

So even after the points adjustment Pipi is starting with a pretty clear lead, but there’s still plenty of time for her to be caught, if Dan, Cam, HotPerro and Brooke can do it. Dr Al Zheimer makes a debut in the league, as do 8 other players.

The next round of the league will be on Sunday 21st March at the same time, 6pm UK. Be there, or be somewhere else doing something more exciting!

Post 14 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Monday, 22-Feb-2010 11:16:42

I wish I had been able to stay for the entire duration of the quiz, but I was only able to stay for the first two or three questions. This isn't looking good for me!

Post 15 by Perestroika (Her Swissness) on Monday, 22-Feb-2010 11:55:05

Nor was I, but dinner was much better...lol

Post 16 by robbiec12345 (Good night and Farewell ) on Monday, 22-Feb-2010 13:26:29

Hmm, I suppose 18th (if I counted right) is not too bad considering I was only around for the last 5 questions and I only managed to answer 1 of them correctly and in time. But it was lucky that the quiz finished when it did, cos at that point the server decided it had had enough and went offline''' not sure what that was about, but ah well!

Post 17 by robbiec12345 (Good night and Farewell ) on Monday, 22-Feb-2010 13:33:31

Oh and if we're lucky, we may just get the points from round 2 by the start of the quicknotes quiz league 2011, lol!

Post 18 by Blondie McConfusion (Blah Blah Blah) on Tuesday, 23-Feb-2010 22:47:17

Dusty, great quiz, like always! I want you to know how much you are appreciated. I love your quizzzes. I look forward to them. You are awesome for taking the time to organize everything and keep things running smoothly. So what I'm trying to say is, thank you. :)
Oh and unfortunately, I will have to miss the next quiz. I have other obligations that i cannot get out of.

Post 19 by Brooke (I just keep on posting!) on Wednesday, 24-Feb-2010 10:53:23

Agree with Pipi, I look forward to the quizzes and have a blast. It's the quiz in general, but it's also the conversations and joking around during those times, that make the afternoons really enjoyable. So thanks for taking the time to do that for us, it's appreciated!

Post 20 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Wednesday, 24-Feb-2010 16:43:20

I'm glad you enjoy it, not sure what else to say ... :-)

Post 21 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Saturday, 06-Mar-2010 3:13:00

I'm sorry folks, I've had no word from the Admins about points for the quizzes but we shall persevere. I'll keep awarding and tracking the scores as normal and then I shall give them out at some stage I'm sure. In the meantime, let's play!

The next Round is on 21st March, and advance warning that Round 4 is going to be on 25th April (not the 18th) because I will be out of the country on holiday!

Dusty

3 Gemini 2,942,500
4 Blackbird 1,885,000
5 PorcelainHeart 1,760,000
6 CSection 1,500,000
= Blondie McConfusion 1,500,000
8 sassy kassy chickadee 1,442,500
9 Brooke 1,260,000
10 Sweet Sentivitity 875,000

15 FermeLaBouche 442,500

17 SilkySarah 250,000
= Scottish Lassie 250,000
19 SmileySoggyBaby 125,000
20 Squish 67,500

A conclusive win for Perro, whose status was confirmed after about 14 questions, well done fella! A late showing from Pipi made for a good all-round spread of points and newcomers, although the current league leader still managed a respectable equal-sixth.

The updated league will be posted below, along with analysis ...

Post 26 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Sunday, 21-Mar-2010 17:39:39

League Table After 3 Rounds:

So despite not playing for most of round 3 Pipi retains her lead, though Dan’s absence allows Perro to jump up to 2nd place overall. Sassy Kassy was the highest placed of ten newcomers to the league, Gemini makes the biggest upward move climbing 7 places, with Paco and Still Small Voice both dropping 9.

Well done to all who are playing, the next round will be on Sunday April 25th (not the 18th) and please don’t forget that the UK goes to daylight saving before the next round so check your time-difference and turn up at the start! See you next month!

I was setting up my new laptop on Sunday and forgot about the quiz until it was too late''' ah well, there's always next time I guess. Oh and i'm not last, amazingly!

Post 28 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Sunday, 04-Apr-2010 11:10:08

Good news folks! I am now in a position to reward everyone in the league table with their points! There are 36 of you so I will be doing this over the next couple of days (Sunday/Monday 4th/5th April) so only get in touch if you haven't received yours by the end of Monday.

Sorry for the delay; there should be no further problems in receiving points after the remaining rounds. Game On - Bring It!

Post 29 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Monday, 05-Apr-2010 11:42:57

Phew, that's all done. Everybody now has the points they won so far. Next time they should be given more quickly.

Oh and could I request that if you change your username you send me a quick note, as this will make it a lot easier to give you your points if I know your new name rather than having to search for it! Cheers.

Post 30 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Friday, 23-Apr-2010 15:12:54

Hi folks,

I'm surprised not to have received any complaints or questions as to why there was no quiz last weekend. This means one of two things: either everybody took notice of my previous warning, or nobody missed me and nobody cared. Don't tell me which, I don't think I can take it!

Anyway this is another heads-up: I was on holiday and got caught up in the travel chaos caused by Volcano Scrabble-Word. I got back late and this has thrown all my plans into the air. As a result I can't host Round 4 of the League as planned this weekend, and my next few weekends are also busy.

In order to get back on track, I propose to hold Rounds 4 and 5 of the quiz in May. This will either be on Saturday/Sunday 15th and 16th May, or on consecutive Sundays (16th and 23rd May). Could you please let me know what your preference would be, and then I'll confirm what will happen.

Again I apologise, and you can blame ... well, you can blame Mother Nature if you like, good luck with that!

More soon. I'm off to put my TV back on standby.

Post 31 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Friday, 23-Apr-2010 15:27:34

I propose two consecutive Sundays. I don't think I could do both during one weekend.

Post 32 by Brooke (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 23-Apr-2010 17:23:54

I'm glad to say I took notice of your previous warning. :P

Two consecutive Sundays would work better for me too; I doubt I'd be able to make it for both if it was all in one weekend.

Post 33 by HotPerro (I live and breathe the board) on Saturday, 24-Apr-2010 22:22:42

Good luck with mother nature's spannking spree.

Post 34 by Blondie McConfusion (Blah Blah Blah) on Sunday, 25-Apr-2010 1:25:34

dusty, thank you for not being able to do the quiz. i would have missed it tomorrow. as for in may, i'm not sure of my plans, so i'm game either way. but for your sake, i'd think the 2 sundays would be easier. so if you are taking a vote, i vote the sundays.

Post 35 by Perestroika (Her Swissness) on Sunday, 25-Apr-2010 14:11:20

yes, I absolutely can't get out of a gig commitment on the 15th, so please please can we have sundays? then I won't miss any.

Post 36 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Thursday, 29-Apr-2010 14:14:55

Okay, consecutive Sundays it is (that's the option I preferred anyway) so Round 4 of the league will be on Sunday 16th May and Round 5 will be on Sunday 23rd. Thanks for your patience and could you please inform anyone you know who takes part? Cheers.

Post 37 by Brooke (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 30-Apr-2010 10:36:05

Awesome, those dates work out perfectly for me!

Post 38 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Wednesday, 12-May-2010 16:09:35

Hello folks, it's me once again, back in your face like an angry woman on The Ricki Lake Show!

Just to remind you all that after a long break I hope you're ready for two back-to-back quizzes! They're coming this Sunday (16th) and the following Sunday (23rd) at 6pm UK Time. Don't forget, the UK has switched to Daylight Saving since the last quiz so check your time difference and be there prompt!

Finally, it appears I'm going to be travelling a lot more than I first thought this year, and the date planned for round 6 (June 20th) now clashes with a social engagement. I'll now do this a week early, on June 13th and will remind you again nearer the time. This, apparently is what happens when you acquire a life :-)

Anyway enough of that, dust of your Google skills for Sunday. I'm ready. Are you???

Points will be given out as soon as an admin gives them to me, and don't forget, Round 5 is next Sunday (23rd) at the same time. See you then!

46 Paco 67,500
= Squish 67,500
= Still_Small_Voice 67,500

So Pipi is building up a fairly good lead and despite some close calls in a couple of rounds she’s over six million ahead of her nearest rival HotPerro; they hold their positions and Benito’s absence allows Musical Ambition to jump 4 places to 3rd and 42galaxy jumps up 11 places. There are ten new players in the league, with Grecia being the highest-placed at joint 18th.

Pipi has the highest Hit-Rate of 61.25%; this is the percentage of questions answered in the league so far. Benito Mussolini has the best Individual Hit Rate (62.5%) which is the percentage of questions answered in the rounds he’s played in.

As mentioned before, points for this round will be given out as soon as I get them, and don’t miss Round 5 which takes place next weekend, Sunday 23rd May at 6pm UK Time.

Well done Diane you came through at the very end! It was a very close game with no clear winner until the final question! Nice to see some newbies up there too!
Next round is on Sunday 13th June, rescheduled cos I'm off round the world again!

Quicknotes Quiz League Table After 5 Rounds (Top 20 Only)

1 Blondie McConfusion 20,702,500
2 HotPerro 16,722,500
3 Musical Ambition 13,462,500
4 Brooke 9,387,500
5 SwissGriff 9,347,500
6 Diane 6,952,500
7 benito mussolini 6,212,500
8 Sassy Kassy Chickadee 6,040,000
9 CSection 5,770,000
10 Blackbird 3,885,000
11 Dr. Al Zheimer 3,192,500
12 LibraLady 2,760,000
13 PorcelainHeart (was NativeRose) 2,645,000
14 42Galaxy 1,875,000
15 Rose Hathaway 1,692,500
16 SilkySarah 1,385,000
17 illumination 1,260,000
18 missdanceralicia 1,182,500
19 Pure Love 1,125,000
20 Scottish Lassie 1,000,000

So Pipi holds on to the top spot but her late showing in round 5 sees her lead cut from 6 to 4 million. Some good showings from other players tonight. Illumination makes an impressive debut at 17 and 5 others make their first appearance this round, Scottish Lassie jumps up 18 places after a good result in her second quiz and after winning the round Diane jumps up 5 places to number 6.

HotPerro still has the best hit-rate of 56%, and Benito Mussolini has the best individual hit rate of 62.5%; HotPerro is second with 56%. I’ve cut the table down to the Top 20 cos it was getting really long but there are 54 people placed overall. If you wanna know where you are, send me a private mail ...

Quicknotes Quiz League Round 6 Results (Sunday 13th June):

1 Blondie McConfusion 5,760,000
2 Musical Ambition 4,875,000
3 Csection 4,192,500
4 K-Dogg 2,780,000
5 KatieKitch 2,317,500
6 Emerald-Hourglass 2,202,500
7 42galaxy 1,327,500
8 illumination 1,067,500
9 SwissGriff 1,000,000
10 MBULLET4058 385,000
11 It 375,000

Well it was a slow start and not many of the regular players were in (I look forward to those who possibly missed the rescheduling giving out at me) but it was a good round. Pipi fought off a run by Cam to finish first with a fairly narrow margin. It was good to see so many new players in, I hope you’ll carry on playing in the remaining rounds and give these others a run for their money! The full leaderboard will be in the next post.

Quicknotes Quiz League After 6 Rounds (Top 20 Only):

1 Blondie McConfusion 26,462,500
2 Musical Ambition 18,337,500
3 HotPerro 16,722,500
4 SwissGriff 10,347,500
5 CSection 9,962,500
6 Brooke 9,387,500
7 Diane 6,952,500
8 benito mussolini 6,212,500
9 Sassy Kassy Chickadee 6,040,000
10 Blackbird 3,885,000
11 42Galaxy 3,202,500
12 Dr. Al Zheimer 3,192,500
13 K-Dogg 2,780,000
14 LibraLady 2,760,000
15 PorcelainHeart (was NativeRose) 2,645,000
16 illumination 2,327,500
17 KatieKitch 2,317,500
18 Emerald-Hourglass 2,202,500
19 Rose Hathaway 1,692,500
20 SilkySarah 1,385,000

So Pipi stretches her lead back to approximately 8 million, Musical Ambition swaps places with Perro (who didn’t play this month) and a number of other players climb up the table thanks to others being absent. K-Dogg makes the highest entry at number 13, and 4 others make new entries on the league. Pipi now has the best Hit-Rate of 59.1% after sneaking ahead of HotPerro; and Benito Mussolini still has the best individual Hit-Rate of 62.5%. If you want to know where you are on the table, please send me a private email.

Well that’s it for now, I’m taking a break over the summer as I have holidays planned. I’ll be back in the Autumn and the next round of the quiz will be on Sunday September 19th. Maybe I’ll be able to give you your points by then, but I wouldn’t hold your breath … Until then, enjoy the summer!

Good day all! Well I'm back and refreshed and all that, ready to get the league underway again with Round 7. Time to dust off those brain cells and get ready to quiz again!

The next round will be on Sunday September 19th, at 6pm UK Time. Don't forget now! :-)

Post 47 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Monday, 20-Sep-2010 4:58:44

Final Scores for Quicknotes Quiz League Round 7 (Sunday 19th September):

1 Blackbird 4,510,000
2 Diane 4,202,500
3 HotPerro 4,077,500
4 Sassy Kassy Chickadee 3,885,000
5 CSection 3,817,500
6 42galaxy 1,760,000
7 Dark Sapphire 1,510,000
8 Cousin Cap 875,000
9 SugarBaby 375,000
10 Striker 317,500
11 Miss_Strawberry_1991 250,000
12 Vortex Awesome 192,500
= Carina<3 192,500
= Devious Britches 192,500
15 Scottish Lassie 125,000
16 KaylaCookie 67,500

Well done to Blackbird who managed to pip Diane to the post despite her strong start; that gives him his first win of the season! Perro and Cam turned up late but still showed well, and Kassy played consistently to finish in a respectable 4th. Well done also to Dark Sapphire, SugarBaby, Striker and the other first-time players.
The overall league table follows in the next post ...

Quicknotes Quiz League Table After 7 Rounds:

1 Blondie McConfusion 26,462,500
2 HotPerro 20,800,000
3 Musical Ambition 18,337,500
4 CSection 13,780,000
5 Diane 11,155,000
6 SwissGriff 10,347,500
7 Sassy Kassy Chickadee 9,925,000
8 Brooke 9,387,500
9 Blackbird 8,395,000
10 benito mussolini 6,212,500
11 42Galaxy 4,962,500
12 Dr. Al Zheimer 3,192,500
13 K-Dogg 2,780,000
14 LibraLady 2,760,000
15 PorcelainHeart (was NativeRose) 2,645,000
16 illumination 2,327,500
17 KatieKitch 2,317,500
18 Emerald-Hourglass 2,202,500
19 Rose Hathaway 1,692,500
20 Dark Sapphire 1,510,000

Pipi remains in top spot by a good margin however she missed her first quiz which allowed Perro to jump up to 2nd and close the gap to less than 6 million. There’s very little movement in the top 20 although Dark Sapphire debuts in 20th spot. Pipi still has the best hit-rate (ratio of correct answers in the league) of 50.71%, though this will likely be topped if she doesn’t appear next month. K-Dogg has the best individual hit-rate (ratio of correct answers in the games actually played) of 75%, although he’s only played one game so far.

Enough of the stats, the total points will be given out at some point, although I urge you all to contact the admins and ask them what the hell is going on, since they haven’t responded to me.

There are 66 people in the overall league; if you want to know where you are, send me a private mail.

Next round will be on Sunday 17th October, be there, or be outside having fun!

Post 49 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Saturday, 25-Sep-2010 8:28:57

Okay big apologies to the admins, I have resolved the situation with the points and I hold up my hands and say it was down to me! Oops!

Anyway the points for the first three rounds were already given out back in April. Those of you who are mssing points from rounds 4-7 will be getting these over the next few days, hopefully by Friday. I'll post again when this is completed so you can check that you've received them, so please wait til the end of the week before contacting me.

Please bear with me on this as by my reckoning there are 42 of you who are missing points. Also just a reminder that if you're playing the league and you change your username, it would really help me if you send me a private mail with your new name.

Many thanks for your patience!

Final scores for Quicknotes Quiz League Round 8:

18 KatieKitch 2,317,500
19 Emerald-Hourglass 2,202,500
20 Cousin Cap 2,077,500

Pipi manages to maintain her lead despite still being unable to take part, however she is now less than a million points ahead of HotPerro who had a strong showing in the latest round. Not a great deal of movement within the table this week, however Annabeth Chase is the best newcomer at 16 after showing a respectable 5th in her first game. Perro now has the best Hit Rate of 55%. The championship is still wide open with two rounds to go, as there are plenty of points to make a difference.

The full table includes all players who have placed so if you want to know where you are, send me a private mail.

The next round of the league is scheduled for Sunday 21st November however I may have to postpone it til the week after. If you don’t hear to the contrary, it will happen on time.
Cheers!

Hi folks, as I suspected, I wont be able to host the 9th Round of the League on 21st November as I am in the midst of a few things at present. I will aim to do it a week later, at 6pm UK on Sunday 28th November instead so please assume this is the new time unless I post otherwise. If you see any of the regular palyers, please let them know.

I'm sorry for the short-notice change but I hope you'll all bear with me.

Cheers,
Dusty

Well that was one of the closest quizzes in a long time, and wasn't. Decided til the last question. Well done to Blackbird who finally pipped it, and congratulations to everyone else who endured the delays caused by my technology! Only one round left, before the prize is decided. Updated leaderboard will follow ...

Post 54 by Dusty (This site is so "educational") on Thursday, 02-Dec-2010 16:49:42

Well it was almost inevitable that her lead would be overtaken as she hasn’t been able to play for a while; HotPerro has taken over at the top of the leaderboard and is in pole position to win the Premium Membership! With only one round left there are only two players who can beat him so it’s by no means decided yet! Six new players made it into the overall leaderboard but apart from Raskolnikov jumping up 25 places there’s very little movement at this stage. Perro also improves his Hit Rate to 64.3% which is the best in the league.

The full table includes all players who have placed so if you want to know where you are, send me a private mail.

IMPORTANT: The final round of the league is scheduled for Sunday 19th December however I can’t make this or any other Sunday in December so I suggest that the final round takes place in the 3rd week in January, which would be Sunday 16th January. Please pass this on to as many players as you can and I apologise for the delay.

Merry Christmas to you all, and see you next year!

Final scores for Quicknotes Quiz League Round 10 on Sunday 16th January:

1 malthe 6,270,000
2 Blondie McConfusion 5,817,500
3 MadnessPersonified 3,635,000
4 Ford Prefect 2,952,500

13 Flop Eared Monster 125,000
= the charismatic_enigma 125,000
15 Al Rodriguez 1982 67,500

So malthe plays for the first time and claims a win, just ahead of Pipi who finally returned to the league after a long absence. It was a good game with more players joining as the night went on. However - no sign of HotPerro, who should have been trying to secure his Championship! What did that do to the final league table? Final scores to follow ...

So, his failure to show means that he is beaten to the Championship by Pipi, who claims the second Premium Membership and bragging rights as 2010 Winner. Well done Pipi! You are now a Premium Member. Malthe’s win in Round 10 makes her the highest new entry at number 11, and a number of new players in the final game also take their place in the table.

HotPerro finishes the league with the best Hit Rate of 51.5%, Malthe has the best Individual Hit Rate of 95%, although she only played one round. HotPerro has the best average Individual Hit Rate of 64.38% from 8 rounds. He also answered the most questions correctly with 103 out of 200. Unlucky fella, you’d probably have taken the title if you’d been there.

Thanks and well done to all of you who played and contributed to the league’s success, I hope you enjoyed it. That’s all for now, I may do another one next year along the same lines, although I think I’ll be dropping the Maths category! Cheers all.

Post 63 by PorkInCider (Wind assisted.) on Friday, 21-Jan-2011 14:45:17

Don't drop the maths rounds. there will always be rounds that are hard for people, for me it's film and/or tv, as i don't watch any, and often music, as i don't listen to radio so don't keep up with modern music, but while I sit here and grumble, I understand why those questions are there, and so likewise should the maths ones.

Post 64 by Blondie McConfusion (Blah Blah Blah) on Friday, 21-Jan-2011 22:54:48

Dusty, I can't thank you enough for taking so much time to give me so much pleasure... heheheh
Seriously though, I love the quizzes.
Daniel, congratulations to you sir, because if you'd have shown up, you would have kicked my ass. I got lucky, that's all. I've enjoyed the competition from you and everyone throughout the past year. Dusty, I sincerely hope that you do the quizzes again and again, if I can help with them in any way, let me know.
I agree with Kevin, don't drop the Math category. Just stick to 1 + 1 hehehehe
Thank you so much again Dusty and everyone!
